“DEITY MORPH” BREEDING CRAZE

I had this idea- what if Dragons selectively breed themselves to appear as their deities? Or attempt to. They do this in order to be “closer” to their respective deity, and in some circles, it’s seen as stylish and the ultimate display of loyalty to one’s God. But the more medically-inclined Clans may know that this fanatical manipulation of genetics comes at a price…

Water Guardians who breed themselves to have the Tidelord’s snubbed nose often end up with breathing troubles and heinous sinus infections. Their limp fins are prone to damage and ick and other similar rotting diseases and parasites. The large belly fins have been bred down to small fins, revealing the Guardian’s soft belly and removing any natural defense the breed is famous for.

Wildclaws often have bone deficiency, and untamed “leaf-like” crests that are prone to irritation, ingrowing, and general frailty. Their claws, overgrown and straightened to mimic “roots” break often and contract fungal disease from the Viridian Labyrinth quite easily, leaving the Deity Morph Dragon unable to hunt. Their wings share the same ragged appearance as their crests, making them look like large leaves, but once again, crippling the Deity Morph’s ability to hunt for itself.

Arcane Fae are said to be the worst Deity Morphs of all… Their wings stripped down and bred to the point of looking like another pair of arms, their fins rigid and unable to fold and bend, rendering whatever emotional display capacity they had useless.
