drpencil-blog:

This is actually the first FR pattern I did. It’s really a modification of this pattern by the amazing IsisMasshiro , who also has this very helpful sheet for making your own patterns! Check out her stuff!

This girl is Ripple/Speckle/Underbelly. I’m not 100% happy with how she came out, but she was the first dragon I made so it wasn’t a bad try! She’s a little smaller and simpler than the others, but this one is a great plush to start with if you’re a sewing beginner. Each page is sized for printing on standard printer paper. Happy sewing!

autopilot-rising:

As I wait to hear back from a commissioner I decided to do a little doodle of one of my dragons with their skin on. I started to to think about that post with other flights versions of the gaolers and considered the Fae. Above is a free lineart that anyone can color and use to make their own or to match a dragon with the strange fae/weird fae skinsents. I only ask that you do not use it for adoptables and use it only for FR dragons. Thanks! Also, ping me so I can see your creation!

The below lore is free to use on FR.

The Proto-Fae:

An extraterrestrial being that is barely dragon, they are truly alien and nearly feral to dragons of today’s society. But despite their looks and unknowable behavior, they posses vast knowledge and secrets of the cosmos.

They are embodiment of the unknown, and it is thought that even if one were to impart its knowledge to a normal dragon, it is but a small fragment of the wider picture that they see, so that they do not drive the dragon mad with the ethereal knowledge.

They speak every language past and present, and feed by siphoning magical energy from leylines or magical objects. It is thought that the Arcanist appeals to them and their secrets through gifts of magical energy and new knowledge. The rare dragon who know of their existance debate whether they were an actual creation of the arcanist, or an extraterrestrial guest. What is clear is that the Arcanist’s magic that they feed upon changed some of their kin into the direct ancestors of fae today.

Proto-Fae themselves think of Fae as imperfect replicas but worthy of extensive observation. Proto-Fae can ensure they keep their own shape by feeding on galactic energies that also pass through the planet. They have an aura of restrained magical power, and the feeling that they could leave anytime they want, but simply choose not to do so in the spirit of learning more about this ill-fated world.

Proto-Fae are rarely seen outside the Arcanist’s observatory, and even rarer still allow themselves to be seen by the common dragon.
