A Public Service announcement from Clan Vagrilux

lindwur-fr:

The Vagrilux Scouts have returned with a sketch of the Emperor currently ravaging the area near the Hewn City. The Emperor is a Cerberus-class, consisting of a Fire, Wind, and Light Imperial. Each head is distinct, and has been marked down for all Clans who wish to approach the creature.

The heads have been nicknamed for ease of reference.

Bleach, the largest head, belongs to a male Imperial of the Fire Flight. The head has been named as such due to its identifiable mummy-like appearance. It is suspected that if Emperors can indeed rot, this head will be the first to fall off, due to its lack of scales protecting its dried skin.

Snap is the smallest head, but arguably the oldest corpse that makes up the Emperor. It is either the Wind or Light head, but Vagrilux Scouts have yet to identify its element 100%. Its neck is twisted and dangles oddly about halfway down its spine, around the 5th vertebrae in its neck. We suspect this injury is what originally killed the Imperial, and its grave was robbed in order to create this monstrosity. Despite its head and neck sustaining grievous injuries, half of its neck is still functional. To move its head, it uses the base of its neck to fling the immobile half to and fro like a flail. It also has the widest circle of reach because of this, being able to rotate its broken neck 360 degrees on its axis. It is blind on one side due to natural decomposition, but we are as of now unsure if this was before or after it became part of the Emperor.

Wit is the most intact head of the three, hardly appearing decayed. It appears to be the smartest of the three, and has been seen making facial expressions and showing signs of higher brain function. This head is the most dangerous because of this. It appears this Imperial head is in control of one of the front arms, with the middle head only having a small area of control. This area is the un-paralyzed section of its neck beginning above the 5th vertebrae.

This Emperor is unable to fly due to the poor state of its wings. Its suspected most of the biomass belongs to Bleach, hence why the soft leather of the Emperor’s wings is cracked and brittle. The heads have been seen snapping at one another in what we can only describe as a “playful” manner. We refer to this behavior as “play fighting”, as the heads never injure one another enough to leave large wounds. We are unsure what this means at this point in time- if it is a sign of higher cognitive ability, or simply a temporary spasm or seizure resulting in the heads snapping at one another in pain.

Clan Vagrilux has currently opened its doors to any Clan who wishes to seek refuge. We are held up in a vast underground city once home to a Clan of five hundred. We will take any refugees displaced by the Emperor’s destruction.

Our meeting point is in the Windswept Plateau, at the Zypher Steppes. If a Clan approaches us in peace and requests sanctuary, we will provide.

serthis-archivist:

the three imperials are three different flights (wind, light, fire), and not actual siblings. it’s possible they’re all cousins from a sprawling family, but

proposal: Luminax was the first Imperial, “Bloodline of Luminax” is a particularly pretentious way of referring to the breed as a whole
