                     Fighting The Shade since the end of the Third Age!

So here’s something different. I’m presenting publicly what I’m calling a “lore subspecies”. Just like normal subspecies, there are some rules to follow, but things are lax for the most part. Since a part of their lore is that they exist all over Sornieth, I thought it would be nice to open up their story in hopes others may be interest in making their own.

Simply put, Burial Guardians are deceased dragons living in Purgatory. Their goal is to help other dragons pass onto the afterlife safely. The Shade preys on the elemental energy left behind when dragons die, and they are also capable of corrupting the spirits. When The Shade corrupts a dragon, they gain another lost soul and a new vessel for their ongoing plight. So instead of passing on, these dragons have chosen to stay and help stop the shade’s spread.

I have a Lore thread just for these guys where you can quick reference, ask questions, and “register” your Burial Guardian. I plan to make a badge for these guys that can be used to show what they are and also to provide a quick link back to the thread.

I would love to know if anyone is interested in making one! You’re of course allowed to write whatever you want about them, create their personalities, backstories, etc. The only thing is that you’d have to be comfortable with is these guys as a concept in my own lore. Otherwise, go wild!
